爪切り
爪切りの消毒方法
爪切りのもっとも有効な消毒法は、熱水である。家庭用食器洗浄機やウォッシャーディスインフェクターなどを用いた熱水消毒を行う（図）1-7)。ただし、プラスチック部分のある爪切りに対しては、熱水消毒は適さない。熱水によりプラスチックが変形することがあるからである。
また、爪切りの第2選択消毒法はアルコール清拭である。十分量の消毒用エタノールを含浸したガーゼなどでの2度拭きを行う。ただし、アルコール清拭が構造的に行いにくい爪切りに対しては、アルコールへの10分間浸漬を行う。
なお、爪切りはできれば個人専用が望ましい。
